		<title>About The Standard</title>
		<link>http://stonegatestandard.com/content/view/12/</link>
<description>If you&amp;#39;ve never read The Standard before, or even if you have, it&amp;#39;s a good idea to learn about what you are reading before getting too involved. This is especially true when it comes to religious things. Consider this, like the preface to a book, a brief introduction to The Stonegate Standard. The Standard is a religious publication created by the Stonegate church in Port Arthur, Texas. Every week, you will find articles written by different members of the Stonegate church that deal with spiritual topics. While there are some personal announcements in the publication, The Standard is not a social publication, but a spiritual one. Its cheif aim to provide spiritual information to people who seeking after God with all their hearts. Since we are trying to provide spiritual information, it becomes the readers&amp;#39; responsbility to check and make sure that the things written in The Standard are indeed what God is telling us through His word, the Bible. To help with this process, Bible verses and passages will be cited directly in each article where appropriate. Every one is encouraged to open their Bibles to the various verses and follow along with author&amp;#39;s thought process. The Standard is not intended to issue edicts or decisive statements, but to encourage spiritual growth. We will only grow spiritually if we carefully consider what is written every week and examine the Scriptures to see if those things are correct.Occasionally, there may be something that you disagree with or think should be examined more carefully or fully. When this is case, you are encouraged to give us feedback regarding the article or topic in question. Please do not hesitate to contact the Stonegate church regarding anything you read in The Standard. Our aim is not to win an argument or defend our belief , but we want to learn what God is really saying in the Bible. The apostle Paul said, Let God be found true, though every man be found a liar (Romans 3.4). This is what we want, to learn what God is teaching us and to conform our lives to that teaching. Finally, we would like to thank everyone who takes the time to read The Standard and study the Scriptures with us. It is God alone who has the words of eternal life (John 6.68), so it is to Him that we must turn. We pray that God will bless us as we study His word together! </description>
